Overview
The Department of Earth and Climate Sciences at Tufts University invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar to join a growing research group focused on glacier and landscape response to past climate change
, supervised by Dr. Allie Balter-Kennedy ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). Broad topics for potential projects include glacier reconstructions, integrating paleoglacier model outputs and observational data, and geochemical methods development. Applicants with expertise in cosmogenic-nuclide geochemistry, glacial geomorphology, and/or glacier modeling are particularly encouraged to apply.
This is a one-year position with the option to renew based on performance and funding availability. The hiring range for this position is $65,000-$75,000, commensurate with experience.
The postdoctoral scholar will contribute to the development of an inclusive and collaborative research group, with opportunities to mentor undergraduate researchers. The successful applicant will have a track record of independent research and is expected to contribute to the development of new projects. Prior experience working in a laboratory setting and/or with scientific programming in MATLAB or Python is strongly preferred.
Candidates must have a PhD by the start of employment.
The Department of Earth and Climate Sciences is an undergraduate-only department with a growing cohort of postdoctoral scholars, situated within the vibrant R1 research community at Tufts University. The postdoctoral scholar will have access to a new cosmogenic-nuclide laboratory and the Tufts HPC cluster (). Tufts is located in the Greater Boston metropolitan area, a cultural hub with easy access to resources and collaborators at other academic institutions.

Pay RangeMinimum $65,000.00, Midpoint $65,000.00, Maximum $65,000.00. Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
