Retail Store Specialist - Customer Service / Merchandising (Part Time)

Compensation: $16.50 - $17.50 USD per hour (based on experience)

Job Description:

The Store Specialist role at OSJL is responsible for creating a positive customer experience, handling point‑of‑sale transactions, merchandising, and supervising assigned associates. The position also supports store initiatives and ensures safety and organization.

• Build lasting relationships with customers using the T.R.E.A.T. model.
• Assist customers with inquiries, locate items, complete purchases, handle transactions accurately, and perform advanced point‑of‑sale functions.
• Promote company‑wide customer initiatives such as donations, loyalty programs, and promotions.
• Maintain visually appealing displays, restock assigned areas, and merchandise new items per company guidelines.
• Train and coordinate assigned associates, manage breaks in accordance with policy.
• Communicate issues and improvement opportunities to store leadership.
• Maintain a safe and organized environment through proactive cleaning and maintenance.
• Handle daily damages and returns according to established procedures.

• Prior retail merchandising, customer service, or cashier experience preferred.
• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication required.
• Full‑time associates must have availability for nights, weekends, and after‑hours as requested.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety hazards; position requires extended periods of movement, standing, ascending, descending, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs regularly; may require use of hand tools, ladders, and other physical tasks.
• Overnight and weekend assignments may be required.
