Overview

Company:
Wilkinson Ecological Design (WED)

Build Business. Restore Landscapes. Make a Real Impact.

Wilkinson Ecological Design (WED) is seeking a driven, relationship-oriented Sales Representative to expand our ecological restoration and resilient landscape services across Cape Cod and the South Shore.

This is consultative, mission-aligned business development in a technically sophisticated, growth-focused organization.

You will play a direct role in advancing living shorelines, habitat restoration, native landscape systems, and climate-resilient site solutions, while building a strong personal book of business with meaningful earning potential.

If you are motivated by ownership, environmental impact, and long-term client relationships, this role offers both professional growth and purpose.

The Opportunity

As a Sales Representative, you will drive regional growth by identifying, developing, and closing new opportunities aligned with WED’s ecological mission and technical standards.

You will manage the full sales cycle — from prospecting and relationship-building through proposal development and contracted handoff — working closely with project managers, designers, and technical teams.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Thrives in relationship-driven, consultative sales
  • Is comfortable engaging residential, municipal, nonprofit, and commercial clients
  • Wants autonomy within a collaborative and values-driven organization
  • Is excited by environmental restoration and coastal resilience work
What You’ll Do
  • Drive Business Development — Identify and qualify new opportunities within WED’s core services: habitat restoration, mitigation, resiliency projects, living shorelines, and ecological landscape systems.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to residential, municipal, nonprofit, and commercial clients.
  • Build and maintain a healthy, forward-looking sales pipeline.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through contracted agreement and project transition.
Own Proposal Development
  • Lead proposal preparation in collaboration with the Regional Growth Manager and technical team.
  • Gather site data and client background information.
  • Coordinate internal inputs and manage submission timelines.
  • Track proposal outcomes and lead follow-up efforts.
Build Long-Term Client Relationships
  • Develop trusted-advisor relationships that lead to repeat work and referrals.
  • Represent WED professionally in all client-facing interactions.
  • Support ongoing relationship strategy with the Regional Growth Manager.
Engage the Market
  • Attend regional industry events, regulatory meetings, and trade associations.
  • Monitor upcoming procurements, regulatory drivers, and regional trends.
  • Leverage CRM insights and market intelligence to prioritize targets.
What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
  • Build and manage a strong, well-documented pipeline in CRM.
  • Close $X+ in contracted revenue.
  • Establish a portfolio of repeat and referral-based clients.
  • Strengthen WED’s presence across Cape Cod and the South Shore.
  • Contribute meaningfully to regional growth strategy.
Compensation & Growth
  • Uncapped performance-based commission
  • Opportunity for long-term career growth within a growing regional organization
  • This role is designed for a high-performing sales professional who wants to grow alongside the business and expand their impact over time.
Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of consultative sales or business development experience
  • Proven ability to manage a full sales cycle
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline and forecasting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams

Preferred:

  • Background in environmental science, engineering, restoration, or related fields
  • Familiarity with native plant communities, invasive species management, or ecological restoration
  • Experience working with engineering firms, landscape architects, wetlands consultants, or public agencies
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act regulations and conservation commission processes
