Police Officer
The Rutland Police Department is currently accepting applications for the positions of full-time and part-time police officers. Candidates must be 21 years of age, hold a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and a Class A LTC. High School diploma or GED required; four-year college degree preferred. Candidates with a MPTC approved fulltime academy or MPTC fulltime academy waiver will be given preference.
Successful candidates will be required to pass a thorough background investigation, medical exam, psychological exam, and physical abilities test. Candidates are expected to be motivated, proactive and engaged with the community and will be required to meet residency requirements as outlined in MGL c.41§99A.
FY-27 base salary range, with a Bachelor’s Degree, is $32.19/hr to $42.41/hr. Additional incentives and stipends are available for night shift pay, fitness incentives, and longevity.
