Field Technician

Overview

Field Technician at Spectrum: you will be on the front lines, installing and repairing services and educating customers on their use. This entry-level role provides training and the opportunity to progress, increase earnings, and build a long-term career with Spectrum.

Move from Field Technician I to Field Technician IV with 10% increases at each progression level and bonus payments for completing coursework. • Field Technicians can earn an industry-recognized certification.

Field Technicians work outdoors, using hand tools in a variety of environments. You will receive support to build confidence and skills to solve complex technical issues, with on-the-job training, career self-progression, Broadband Apprenticeship Program, and more.

• Education: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Schedule: Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned customer premises, company facilities, and other locations as necessary.
• Language: Fluent in English.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in using computers and software applications. Competent in using hand tools.
• Abilities: Effective communication, professionalism, time management, organization, critical thinking, responsibility and reliability.
• Valid Driver's license with a safe driving record within company standards required.
• Physical: Walk over various terrains and weather conditions while carrying tools and equipment. Safely use weight-bearing equipment (up to 345 lbs) and lift up to 75 lbs. Climb ladders up to 32 feet and work in confined spaces and rate and navigate a company vehicle in changing environments. Work with small components and wires. Work outdoors for extended periods in any season and inclement weather.

The base pay for this position generally ranges from $20.00 to $27.80/hour. Actual compensation offered will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and some positions may be eligible for additional incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
