Note:

Salary range compensation by hours worked is determined by several factors, including experience, seniority, the agency’s budget, and the nature of the role. For union positions, salary is determined in accordance with the applicable bargaining unit s salary schedule and governing regulations. If selected for a position working less than 90 days, the position may revert to a short-term status, and salary details will be discussed during the interview phase.

• Performs various manual labor tasks to assist skilled tradesmen such as carpenters, plumbers and masons.
• Performs tasks related to installation of drainage, sewer and/or water pipelines and associated work (positioning, joining, sealing pipe sections, erecting/removing shoring for trenches).
• Digs trenches, refills excavations, and levels materials to grade.
• Sets and repairs curbing; patches pavement using paving materials to maintain safe roadways and sidewalks.
• Installs and maintains signs (regulatory, historic, information) using hand or handheld power tools.
• Plants, transplants, prunes, trims, fertilizes and maintains vegetation; seeds lawns, sprays for pests, and performs related grounds maintenance tasks.
• Loads/unloads materials, inventories supplies, and uses dollies as needed.
• Operates handheld power tools, tapping machines, rodding machines, and motor vehicles as required.
• Performs related duties as required.

• Preferred:
  Ability to work outside in inclement weather, odd hours, overtime opportunities, and holidays.
• Minimum Entrance Requirements:
  At least six months of full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience in manual labor related to general construction or maintenance work.
