Building Maintenance Technician (Painting and Light Carpentry)
JLL is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician specializing in painting and light carpentry to join our facilities team. In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the physical appearance and functionality of assigned commercial buildings through expert painting, surface preparation, and general maintenance work.
What the role involves- Prepare, prime, and paint interior and exterior building surfaces, ensuring proper surface preparation, patching, and finish quality.
- Perform routine building maintenance, including repair and replacement of physical structure components such as locks, door closers, furniture, and various fixtures.
- Provide light carpentry and handyman services, including removing and reinstalling fixtures, and maintaining doors and furniture to functional standards.
- Assist with basic plumbing maintenance of toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps as needed.
- Protect work areas by masking tape, drop cloths, and protective coverings to prevent paint damage.
- Communicate with clients to determine painting and maintenance requirements, provide professional recommendations, and ensure project specifications are met.
- Review and execute work orders, customer service requests, preventative maintenance tasks, and general assignments while adhering to safety regulations and established procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general building repair and maintenance, including painting, basic plumbing, and light electrical work.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., with capability to safely perform overhead work while standing on ladders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Physical capability to walk, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, lift, push, and pull as required to complete maintenance tasks throughout the workday.
- Previous painting experience within industrial or commercial environments, especially professional office settings.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as pharmaceutical facilities, medical research device manufacturing, or other Life Science industry settings.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot basic building systems.
- Knowledge of paint mixing, matching, and application techniques for various finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, protective equipment use, and regulatory compliance in commercial maintenance environments.

Work ShiftMonday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary$54,080 – $62,400 USD annually (total compensation, including bonus if applicable).
