Equipment Operator

About the Role

As an Equipment Operator II, you will safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, participate in field service projects, and support the project lead. You will maintain equipment, ensure safety compliance, manage emergency response duties, perform manual labor when required, and mentor new hires.

• Operate heavy equipment safely, including driving to/from project sites.
• Maintain, clean, inspect, document, grease, and return company‑owned vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Report required and preventative maintenance and any damages to management immediately.
• Understand project scopes and, when the lead is absent, lead smaller projects and ensure crew members perform work in accordance with objectives.
• Maintain a clean and orderly job site.
• Assist the on‑site project lead in identifying health and safety hazards and enforce onsite safety requirements.
• Communicate identified safety issues or general concerns to management.
• Participate in the 24‑hour emergency response team, including being on call one week per month.
• Verify dig‑safe tickets and ensure utilities are marked appropriately in the area.
• Perform manual labor when equipment operation is not required.
• Mentor and train new hires and Equipment Operator I employees.
• Complete any additional duties assigned to support company operations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating industrial equipment.
• Acceptable driving record and safety habits for company vehicles.
• Valid hydraulic license for MA and/or RI.
• Ability to perform duties while upholding company values, including safety, inclusion and trust.

Estimated base pay: $50,669.00 - $69,683.00 annually.
