Construction Labourer

Near Newbury

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Construction Labourer for our clients busy team.

This role involves supporting various aspects of construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and possess a strong work ethic, with experience or interest in different trades within the construction industry. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills across multiple disciplines while contributing to diverse building projects.

Duties
  • Assist with the preparation and clean-up of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials.
  • Support skilled tradespeople such as roofers, plumbers, welders, electricians, carpenters, masons, and painters in their tasks.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
  • Assist with the installation of roofing, plumbing systems, electrical wiring, plastering, masonry work, and fabrication tasks.
  • Follow schematics and technical drawings to aid in construction activities.
  • Support the setup of scaffolding and temporary structures as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety standards.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during operations.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience or training in construction-related fields such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, plastering, masonry or carpentry is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in construction environments.
  • Ability to follow technical schematics and instructions accurately.
  • Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual labour for extended periods.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety procedures and protocols on-site.
