Social Ministries Manager

Hours:
40 hrs/week, Exempt.
Pay Rate: up to $65,000 per year.
The Social Ministries Manager is responsible for the development and administration of all social ministries programs, which provide a continuum of care for adults, children, and families within the community. Will oversee and direct social service programs/ministries, including but not limited to: new program development, case management, staff/volunteer and program supervision, collaboration with other community social service providers, and the monitoring of program outcomes, procedures, and budget.
EducationRequirements
- Bachelor's degree in social work required.
- Master's degree in social work (MSW), preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in social work or the social services field.
- Direct Care in a Human Service setting as well as supervisory/management experience.
- Knowledge of Social Service field/Community Resources.

- Ability to develop budgets, reports, and to maintain and monitor statistical data and fiscal records related to social services.
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability related to the principles and delivery of strengths-based case management.
- Results-oriented, with demonstrated ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization. Proven expertise in building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse individuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and data management systems.
- Valid driver's license and use of official vehicle may be required. Ability to travel as needed.
- Able to work extended hours if needed and during the Holiday season or times of disaster.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Bi-lingual, preferred.
* Each location may have duties, within the social ministries scope, specific to that Corps. Those duties should be typed in a Word document and attached to the signed job description.
Casework- Interview clients and assess needs and resources of clients.
- Provide emergency assistance, counseling, advocacy to clients according to the needs assessed.
- Make referrals to area agencies for further services.
- Schedule appointments for clientele as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential daily records of clients including but not limited to forms/files/correspondence/statistical information/ and other records as required.
- Recognize spiritual needs of persons which may require referral to the Corps Officers (who are ordained ministers of The Salvation Army).
- Assist with the implementation and coordination of social ministries programs at Corps.
- Maintain inventory for feeding program and emergency food pantry, including supporting Corps officers in grant and in-kind donation development.
- Network with and cultivate collaborative relationships with key personnel at other social service agencies and community-based organizations in the corps area.
- Attend community meetings as requested by Corps Officers.
- Identify and interact with families and individuals to assess their requirements, find internal and external social services programs that would assist them, assess their most urgent needs, appraise the situation, and listen to the clients' concerns.
- Develop a detailed plan of action to address identified root causes and needs of eligible clients, set goals and outcomes for said clients, and find necessary resources to meet the goals.
- Establishing and strengthening solid community collaborations with outside agencies, and serving as a client advocate, enhancing a collaborative relationship to maximize the family's ability to make informed decisions.
- Consult with other external agencies to provide support services and resources.
- Keep comprehensive records of clients' progress throughout the process, including every call, referral, and home visit to track a family's success.
