Assistant Assessor​/GIS Coordinator

Position Summary

The Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea is accepting internal applications for the position of Assistant Assessor/GIS Coordinator. This full‑time position assists the Principal Assessor with property valuation, assessment administration, field inspections, Geographic Information System (GIS) coordination, mapping maintenance, assessment database management, and customer service. The successful candidate will also maintain assessment and GIS records, support mapping and permitting software, coordinate with other Town departments, and assist the public with property assessment and mapping inquiries.

• Salary: H‑6 ($30.82–$33.46 per hour), with step placement determined in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in assessing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), planning, or a related field.
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and computerized appraisal systems preferred.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts assessment laws and mapping procedures preferred.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license.
