With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc. is the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families. We are seeking to fill the Employment and Training Case Manager position and add valuable members to our team to accomplish our mission!
Employment & Training Case Managers reintegrate homeless and at‑risk Veterans into meaningful employment as well as address the complex barriers they face. This team member will conduct client assessments, career and employment training, counseling, advocacy, outreach to locate homeless and at‑risk Veterans, attend networking events and career fairs, and establish and maintain professional relationships with local employers. The role supports meeting the Veteran “where they are at.”
WHATYOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:
- Daily functions include job coaching, resume building, job searches, and mock interviews.
- Perform initial intake and assessments of all Veterans for acceptance into Veterans Inc. programs and assist them in developing individual training plans that fit their specific needs and skills.
- Track and report case‑management progress through case notes, conferences with the manager, and complete record‑keeping and documentation for monthly reporting into the agency database; coordinate with all funding sources.
- Assist Veterans with researching and accessing any needed services they may be eligible for from public sources or the VA.
- Conduct outreach activities to market Veterans Inc. programs and engage new referral sources; coordinate internal referrals to other Veterans Inc. programs and community‑based homeless service providers.
- Understand all Department of Labor Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) and Call of Duty Endowment (CODE) functions and initiatives, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) functions and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with employers, career centers, Veterans services agencies, and others to provide a smooth and timely transition for Veterans being reintegrated into the workforce.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field required; military experience can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of two years experience in employment training, vocational rehabilitation, recruitment, counseling, outreach, and/or services to the homeless, or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with Veteran populations preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for outreach travel.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to pass a background records check.
