Job Description

Position: Family Support Worker

Program: MV Family Resource Center

Classification: Non-Exempt – 40 hours

Compensation: $23.00 – $28.50

Reports to: Program Director of MV Family Resource Center

Job Summary

Working under the direction of the MVFRC Program Coordinator and Program Director, the Family Support Worker provides referrals to community resources and assists individuals seeking support from the MVFRC. The role also involves developing the MVFRC calendar, facilitating parent and youth programming, support groups, recruiting and supporting volunteers, and ensuring evening and weekend coverage is maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Provide information and referrals to community resources and complete necessary forms for individuals seeking support from the MVFRC.
  • Maintain and track data related to services provided to MVFRC families per program policies.
  • Attend trainings and meetings requested by the Department of Children and Families and the Program Director, including off‑island trainings and meetings via Zoom or in person.
  • Assist in presenting evidence‑based MVFRC program curriculum and facilitate other programming, including groups, MVFRC events, and participation in community events.
  • Provide hands‑on physical assistance with setup, arrangement, and breakdown of event spaces, furniture, and equipment, restoring venues to their original condition.
  • Participate in the MVCS Quality Improvement Team as requested.
  • Fill in for team members when necessary and assist with general upkeep, cleanliness, and order of all program spaces.

  • Reliable independent transportation for on‑ and off‑island travel.

Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods, or otherwise to balance the workload.
