Job Goal:
The School Social Worker will provide direct support to students experiencing social/emotional barriers to their learning and support the Social Emotional Learning initiatives throughout the buildings.

• 1. Counsel students whose behavior, school progress, or condition necessitates assistance.
• 2. Encourage parents and students to participate in the learning process through frequent and meaningful communication
• 3. Consult with staff and parents regarding student concerns
• 4. Interface with outside agencies and providers as appropriate and necessary to support students in school
• 5. Actively participate in Child Study/ Student Response Teams meetings
• 6. Possess background knowledge and experience with students who have social/emotional challenges
• 7. Regularly provide advice and expertise to teachers and staff in supportive interventions and strategies to promote effective and appropriate academic, behavioral, and social emotional learning experience for all students
• 8. Work collaboratively with all stakeholders (parents, teachers, staff, administration, outside agencies) to support student learning and personal growth)
• 9. Other duties as reasonably directed by the Director of Student Services.

• Master’s Degree in Social Work and/or Counseling
• Massachusetts certification
• Two to three years of experience in public schools preferred
• At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
