Athletic Coach: Middle School Baseball

Location: Northfield

Pioneer Valley Regional School seeks a Middle School Baseball Coach for the Spring 2025-26 season. Season duration March 16, 2026 - June 15 (pending playoffs) Position overview To organize, coordinate, and promote a comprehensive athletic program in the assigned sport that meets the needs and interests of the school community. Provide effective leadership to ensure a positive learning environment and stress the importance of academic achievement.

Demonstrate a high degree of ethics, professionalism, human relations, and be a positive role model for all students. Responsibilities

* Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning in the assigned sport. Issue, collect, inventory, and return equipment, uniforms, and other materials (e.g., team roster, first aid kit, coach's handbook) per athletic department guidelines

* Ensure adequate supervision of all students involved in the program and ensure the safety of participants by inspecting facilities and equipment and being aware of environmental conditions.

* Supervise student athletes' use of the locker room; during travel to and from, and during games/matches.

* Instruct participants in safety procedures and the need to report injuries to the coach and/or trainer immediately; implement appropriate procedures for handling injury situations; ensure the availability of a properly supplied first aid kit.

* Submit coach's game report to Athletic Director within 24 hours of each game

* Complete and submit the following to the Athletic Director and the appropriate principal:
Accident Reports Disciplinary Action Parent Complaints

* Attend various sporting events and related activities, including Wellness Programs, as assigned.

* Perform other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, including:
Eligibility list with grades and attendance at the start of each season Collection of each form given at the beginning of each season from the players Adherence to the policies and procedures of the Coach's Handbook Signing and returning the coach's evaluation at the completion of each season
