Fleet Trailer Technician

Position Overview

As a Fleet Maintenance Trailer Technician, Level A, you will be responsible for performing core elements of fleet maintenance primarily with trailer chassis assets, with exposure to other fleet assets during operations. You will conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot repairs, complete work orders, and support shop projects to optimize asset uptime and productivity while working safely and embodying the safety culture.

Sunday-Thursday, 3pm–11:30pm

$22–$34per hour, depending on experience and skill set

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on trailer chassis assets and lift‑gate components in accordance with OEM and internal specifications.
• Conduct asset inspections by item level task, complete small repairs, post PM inspections, and ensure successful inspection completion.
• Support shop projects and related tasks to optimize asset uptime and productivity.

• Collaborate with experienced technicians to acquire skills and expertise.
• Participate in a learning cycle: read modules, attend classroom sessions, observe expert repairs, and demonstrate proficiency for each critical learning outcome.
• Complete training modules, succeed at testing, and demonstrate technical competency.

• ASE certifications.
• Base understanding of mechanical principles and aptitude for completing repairs on heavy‑duty equipment.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance systems, commercial truck components, and driver DOT regulations.

• Proficiency in PM and troubleshooting of all lift‑gate types.

• Heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and other physical tasks.
• 8 hours of continuous standing, squatting, and twisting at times.
• Work with computers for part of the day.

• Pride in high work quality and ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

5–7 years of experience, mechanical exposure, and understanding of internal combustion engines preferred; prior work experience strongly recommended.

• High School Diploma – General Studies.
