Come join Team Chatham! The Town of Chatham is currently accepting applications for the position of Highway Foreman in the Department of Public Works.

Under general direction of the DPW Director or designee, the Highway Foreman coordinates, assigns, prioritizes, and participates in all Highway Division functions including skilled and unskilled tasks such as vehicle and equipment maintenance/operation, snow plowing, drainage installation/maintenance, roadside maintenance and preparation for road resurfacing.

This position provides supervision, oversight and participation in snow removal or other weather-related events. Callbacks and overtime for weather-related and state of emergency operations are mandatory.

Is this job the perfect fit for you? Position is 40 hours per week with overtime potential. Starting annual wage as of 7/1/26 is $70,532.80 - $79,456.00. Position is covered under the Chatham Municipal Employees Association and is benefits and pension eligible.

Qualifications:

Massachusetts Class B CDL license (Class A preferred) with tanker endorsement and hydraulic license, hoisting 2A endorsement (1A preferred), forklift 1C, 4E catch basin cleaning and 4G roadside maintenance endorsements must be pursued. Willingness to obtain additional certifications as required.
