Job SummaryThis position requires the employee to perform a wide variety of functions including, but not limited to weighing and ticketing inbound/outbound trucks, preparing shipping documents, accepting payment, basic typing and word processing, answering calls, customer relations, assisting with dispatch, etc.
Job Responsibilities- Coordinate deliveries with company drivers and external trucking partners to ensure timely, accurate shipments.
- Operate the weigh scales and maintain shipping, receiving, and production records.
- Review and process receipt of raw material.
- Prepare delivery tickets and related shipping documents.
- Check completed orders against delivery tickets before shipment.
- Work closely with truck drivers to ensure delivery dates/times are accurate and D.O.T. compliance with load weight and secure loads are met.
- Plan effective delivery routes and assign drivers for scheduled deliveries.
- Collaborate with customer service to understand product availability and logistics issues of specific projects.
- Accurately record each truck entering/leaving the site and material weights.
- Use computers, spreadsheets and databases.
- Maintain strong information storage and filing skills.
- Analyze data and perform computations as needed.
- Familiarity with scale operation and shipping is an asset.
- Proven safety record and team‑player attitude.
- Work independently without direct supervision.
- Shift work and overtime will be required.
- Answer incoming phone calls.
- Perform other duties related to the nature of the job as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
- One to three years of related experience.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Mathematical and communication skills.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for long periods.
- $20–$21 per hour.
