Transportation Coordinator​/Dispatcher

Primary Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch vehicles, drivers and aides on routes
• Work with other Dispatcher(s) to cover all routes, AM, Midday, PM
• Utilize GPS and dispatching software and hardware to monitor operations of routes for accuracy and direct drivers through radio contact
• Work with drivers, other staff and school personnel to address service issues
• Create, review, and revise driver directions for accuracy and address driver questions and concerns promptly
• Dependability
• Consistent follow up with assigned duties

• High School Degree or equivalent
• School Bus Operations experience preferred
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
• Detail oriented and customer focused
• Proactive mindset for problem solving
• Strong phone and verbal communication skills
• Adaptability to different personality types
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Primarily Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to use internet and other transportation software
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• CDL w/ S & P endorsement preferred (required to obtain within 6 months)
