Yard Driver - Wed-Sat 4PM-2:30AM
A Yard Driver is responsible for safely moving trailers, trucks, and equipment within a company yard, warehouse, or distribution facility. The driver positions trailers at loading docks, supports yard organization, and coordinates with warehouse and transportation teams to maintain efficient operations.
Safely operate yard trucks, hostlers, tractors, and other assigned equipment. Move trailers between parking areas, loading docks, staging areas, and maintenance locations. Connect and disconnect trailers in accordance with established procedures. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment. Accurately position trailers at assigned dock doors and staging locations. Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, yard activity, and equipment status.
Communicate with dispatch, warehouse personnel, drivers, and leadership regarding trailer locations, priorities, and operating conditions. Maintain an organized, secure, and safe yard. Follow company safety procedures, yard traffic rules, and applicable DOT requirements. Immediately report vehicle, trailer, equipment, cargo, or facility damage. Monitor trailer and equipment conditions and report maintenance needs. Assist with yard checks and trailer inventory when required.
Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized. Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required; CDL may be required based on operational needs. Experience operating yard tractors, hostlers, trailers, or similar equipment preferred. Ability to safely maneuver equipment in confined spaces and active yard environments. Ability to accurately document trailer movements and yard activity. Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with dispatch, warehouse, and transportation teams. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification may be required.
Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and commitment to safety. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond to operating changes in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules when required. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
This position requires frequent entering and exiting of vehicles and trailers, standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday. Employees must be able to connect and disconnect trailers, perform equipment inspections, and lift up to 50 lbs. while performing yard-related activities.
Employees are expected to comply with all company safety policies, applicable DOT requirements, OSHA standards, TSA requirements where applicable, and customer-site safety rules. Employees must immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment damage, cargo damage, and regulatory concerns.

Pay Rate: $30 hourly
Must have 1 year of verifiable TT experience within the last 5 years.
Must have yard experience.
