Overnight Kitchen Manager (10:00pm-6:00am) – Massapequa, NY
Our store located in Massapequa is seeking a full‑time Kitchen Manager to oversee busy overnight kitchen operations. The position includes managing the pantry, inventory, food storage, and preparation, as well as supervising a team of Overnight Kitchen Clerks and Grab‑and‑Go Clerks.
Salary: $95,000 annually plus an incentive bonus of up to 15% of annual salary. The role also includes a robust benefits package.
Responsibilities- Ensure all food items and products are stored, prepared, and served according to the restaurant’s recipe, preparation, and portion standards.
- Evaluate and discipline kitchen personnel, and make employment and termination decisions.
- Order kitchen materials and ingredients based on menu and market demand.
- Supervise food preparation, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain clean working environments and enforce preventive maintenance measures.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels and conduct weekly inventories.
- Collaborate with department managers to create menu items, set pricing, and establish portion sizes.
- Schedule shifts by business hours, days, and occasions.
- Oversee employee training for safe operation of kitchen equipment and proper handling of heavy items and hazardous materials.
- Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
- Oversee the quality of food, inventory, supply, and QA processes.
- Ensure food safety and security standards are met consistently by team members.
- Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g., refrigerators, storage rooms).
- Maintain food safety standards at all times.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- 3‑5 years of experience managing a fast‑paced kitchen.
- Ability to work a varying schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and understanding English.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Food Safety Certification.

Working ConditionsMost of the time is spent moving continuously on hard surfaces. The job may require frequent bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. It may involve lifting objects up to 30 pounds, and moving heavy or awkward objects over 30 pounds with assistance. Work is usually performed in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and loud equipment that may require shouting to be heard.
Exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, or coolers, occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects, or industrial equipment may also occur.
