R2 Sealant Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, support financial reporting, and provide key insights that drive business decisions. PositionSummary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of R2 Sealant Systems’ manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting cost accounting processes. This role works closely with production, purchasing, inventory, sales, logistics, and operations teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
The ideal candidate is an experienced accounting leader with a strong understanding of manufacturing costs, inventory management, financial reporting, and ERP systems. This position requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting- Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
- Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
- Oversee cost accounting functions, including product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
- Monitor manufacturing costs and analyze labor, material, and overhead variances
- Reconcile inventory records and coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories
- Partner with production, purchasing, warehouse, and engineering teams to improve financial processes and operational efficiency
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Prepare and file tax-related reports while supporting federal, state, and local compliance requirements
- Manage accounting activities related to international customers
- Process and record international wire transfers
- Monitor foreign currency receipts and payments
- Coordinate with banking institutions and ensure timely application of customer payments
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and logistics teams to resolve billing, payment, and shipping-related financial issues
- Supervise, mentor, and support accounting staff through performance development and ongoing guidance
- Promote accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the accounting department
- Support ERP system maintenance and process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial workflows and reporting processes
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CMA designation preferred
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
- 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience required
- Manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience required
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Deacom, Epicor, or similar preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, cost accounting, and inventory management
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
