DYS is seeking an Administrative Professional 1 to serve as part of our Unit Management team at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and be a team player.
The Administrative Professional 1 will be responsible for providing assistance to assigned unit. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine administrative tasks (e.g., draft correspondence, compile data, answer telephone, sort mail); prepare reports, schedules, spreadsheets, and documents; proofread and make corrections to documents;
- Contact courts and schedule all facility trips;
- Maintain your records, process youth intakes, and coordinate youth releases;
- Schedules and starts virtual meetings for youth with courts.
1 yr. trg. or 1 yr. exp. in secretarial science or business office applications.
For positions requiring technical terminology, applicants must also have 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in relevant technical terminology.

DYS is the juvenile corrections system for the state of Ohio. DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders, ages 10-21, who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohio's 88 county juvenile courts. During their stay with DYS, youth are engaged in programming that is designed to address their criminological and behavioral needs. DYS reaches thousands of youth in facilities and those on parole.
