Teacher Responsibilities

• Assess educational needs of youth: develop and implement lesson plans to address those needs to include individualized assignments and training;
• Provide instruction with individual assistance;
• Counsel students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems;
• Organize and/or monitor extracurricular activities if assigned.

• Teacher 1: baccalaureate degree or less;
  Starting pay $66,726.
• Teacher 2: baccalaureate degree & 20 additional quarter hrs, but less than master’s degree.
• Teacher 3: master’s degree.
• Teacher 4: master’s degree & 30 hrs. of post‑graduate study.

Note:

Applicant must successfully obtain Teacher Certificate or License prior to employment.

• Leadership, commitment to excellence, professionalism, strong interpersonal communication skills, good judgment of people and situations, change agent, excellent customer service, trauma‑responsive, and solution driven;
• Able to use current technology, including computers;
• Interest in professional growth and development;
• Knowledge of ODE Academic Content Standards and project‑based personalized learning;
• Competent in curriculum building and program improvement in content, methods, and materials.

• DYS Teachers can earn from $66,726 - $113,401 depending on education and experience (includes additional 20% supplement).
• Small class sizes (6-8 students).
• Students are an average of 16-18 years old.
• Comprehensive paid training will be provided to the selected candidate.
• Intersession leave – 40 days off per year; 186 student days.
• Additional personal and sick leave.
• No study hall/lunch supervisory responsibilities.

OEA/Scope

Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
