Fresh Mark is searching for a technical services leader who will direct, and coordinate activities related to preventive maintenance, continuous optimization and improvement of production equipment and physical plant. Minimizing machine down time due to technical issues while ensuring safety in an efficient way will be one of the main responsibilities of this role. Core responsibilities also include direct supervision and management of technical services activities performed by the maintenance team and contractors.
Technical Services Manager is responsible for the execution of the technical services strategy and the achievement of the production plan. This is accomplished through leadership and collaboration with the Technical Services, Operations, EHS, and Quality Teams.
Key Accountabilities- Work closely with maintenance technicians, maintenance supervisors, production supervisors, and all support roles to provide overall coordination of technical services activities and resources to drive the daily achievement of the schedule and efficient/effective response to unplanned stoppage events.
- Understand the key losses on production lines, the maintenance systems’ health, the capabilities of the maintenance technicians, and resources to prioritize technical support needs and improvements.
- In coordination with plant leaders, develop the vision needed to lead and oversee the technical services support to NHS operational equipment.
- Coordinate shift activities for the Technical Services Department to maintain equipment at the highest practical level through continuous improvement of the maintenance systems, as well as leadership within the facility’s continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work with team members to develop the most cost-effective repair strategies and manage technical services spending to achieve overall plant technical services budget.
- Monitor key performance indicators and line/equipment trends to ensure the best operation and overall reduction of planned/unplanned downtime to achieve KPI targets.
- Promote and enhance a positive labor management relationship including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement.
- Ensure a Safety-First culture and support Company’s divisional & global safety standards deployment.
- Conduct scheduled audits to ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, corporate, and ethical obligations to minimize risk to employees, and the wider community.
- Implement and enforce safe work rules and procedure as well as conduct annual reviews.
- Manage & develop maintenance staff effectively, provide timely feedback and coaching, conduct annual performance reviews & appraisals and prepare personal growth plans for all employees in technical services department.
- Oversee and prioritizes plant priorities pertaining to breakdowns, projects & PM’s and allocate to employees.
- Responsible for working with Supply Chain to purchase maintenance items, spare parts for all plant equipment and supplies.
- Effectively plan and manage shutdown schedules to perform preventative maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- Prior work experience and relevant years of experience working in a manufacturing environment required. Experience supporting high speed food manufacturing in a supervisory role is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Maintenance & Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical or equivalent) a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work extended days and/or weekends with flexibility to switch shifts as needed to support team and key initiatives.

- Exposure to implementing continuous improvement, employee involvement techniques and change management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, PM programs, machining, and welding. Ability to read drawings is a plus.
