The Jackson Township Board of Trustees is accepting applications for the position of full-time Firefighter/Paramedic in the Fire Department. The Jackson Township Fire Department’s mission is to provide both fire protection and emergency medical service in a professional, unbiased manner and to provide courteous service to the township residents and visitors.
The Jackson Township Fire Department includes suppression activities, fire code enforcement, numerous public educational courses, origin & cause of fire investigations, along with involvement on numerous specialized county and state-based teams such as hazmat, technical rescue, incident management (IMAT), state-wide emergency response (ERP), SWAT, and PEER support functions.
Qualifications & Requirements:- Applicants must be a United States citizen;
- Be eighteen (18) years of age;
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license;
- Current State of Ohio certifications in Firefighter II (FFII)
- Current State of Ohio Paramedic certification OR currently attending a paramedic course
- Physical Agility Testing (PAT) certification from either Stark State College or Tri-C completed within the past 12 months.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between Jackson Township and IAFF Local 2280 determines the salary for this position.
