Job Description

The Opportunity: We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly collaborative professional to serve as a key liaison between Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility leadership, DYS Chief Inspector’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and other law enforcement partners. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the safety, security, and integrity of facility operations.

Core Responsibilities:

Investigative and Enforcement Liaison

Serve as liaison between Facility Superintendent, DYS Chief Inspectors Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and other law enforcement agencies regarding investigations involving youth or staff.

Monitor youth phone systems, visitation activity, and related interactions to proactively identify and address violations.

Initiate, inspect, and assist with investigations related to drugs, contraband, and other prohibited activities.

Work collaboratively with DYS Chief Inspectors Office to provide information related to employee impropriety, violations of law, or breaches of policies and procedures by staff or visitors.

Youth Grievance Coordination and Administrative Support

Act as administrative liaison between Facility Superintendent, youth, and staff to coordinate the youth grievance process.

Manage and respond to complaints, allegations, and inquiries arising from the grievance process.

Conduct proactive inspections and research related to concerns raised by youth, staff, the general public, and external agency partners.

Prepare reports, position papers, legal documents, and correspondence for all parties involved in the grievance process.

Train, monitor, and evaluate youth and staff on grievance procedures and investigative/inspection techniques as needed.

Completion of undergraduate core program in social or behavioral science, pre-medicine or public or business administration or accounting;
