Plant Overview

The Kraft Heinz Massillon factory is engaged in the manufacture of frozen food products, most particularly frozen dinner entrees, spinach dip, and kids’ meals under the brand names of Smart Ones, Smart Made, Devour, Kraft, TGI Fridays, and Crave. All items produced are frozen and are supervised by FDA, ODA, two on‑site federal USDA inspectors, and company quality inspectors. The plant currently employs approximately 370 salaried, non‑union hourly, and union hourly employees.

Union hourly workers are represented by Local 17A of the United Food & Commercial Workers Union.

The factory operates production lines on day and afternoon shifts. The midnight shift is dedicated to sanitation, maintenance, and warehouse work, which includes disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembling all production lines and equipment in preparation for the next day’s operation. All products are micro‑tested in the on‑site Quality Assurance Laboratory. Products manufactured at the Massillon factory are distributed throughout the United States and Canada through retail and warehouse club outlets.
