Seasonal Crew Worker; s - Park Grounds and Lawn Maintenance

The Stark County Park District is looking for three (3) customer service oriented, self‑starters to join our spring/summer mowing and grounds upkeep crews. Must be able to work 7:00a‑3:00p Monday through Friday (possible part‑time opportunities).

The right independent worker(s) will look forward to performing a variety of duties at Park sites, including but not limited to Canton area parks/facilities and Hartville/Alliance area parks/facilities.

• Performs lawn maintenance including cutting and trimming grass, trimming trees and bushes, and is responsible for trash removal and bathroom maintenance at different park locations, as needed.
• Effectively operates lawn maintenance equipment.
• Perform custodial type duties such as event clean up, trash pickup, emptying trash and recycling receptacles, cleaning restrooms, etc. at various Park sites throughout Stark County.
• Responsible for complying with a variety of safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas and park owned vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Some experience with lawn maintenance equipment preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to work independently and be productively engaged.

Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, not required. Relevant work experience preferred, but not required. Valid Driver's License required. Must be able to work 7:00a‑3:00p, Monday through Friday (possible part‑time opportunities).

Ability to use hands and fingers to handle/feel, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel and crouch. Ability to frequently lift/carry, push/pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision. Frequently exposed to moderate to loud noise levels. Frequent exposure to airborne dusts, dirt, fumes, and varying outdoor weather conditions.

Must be eligible for employment in the United States. Pre‑employment background check and drug screening.

Salary: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour.
