Food Service Worker, On-call (Akron/Canton Area Schools)

The AVI Food systems operation within the Akron/Canton Area Schools is now hiring friendly, service-oriented people to join our team. This position is on-call as needed filling a Food Service Worker role that will work when staff is needed.

A great way to earn extra money! This position will work as needed to cover the Food Service Worker position traveling between schools in the Akron and Canton Area. The hours are typically Monday - Friday with very few evenings and weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage
• Set up stations with entrées, soups, salads, breads, condiments, other food products and utensils
• Interact with guests in the serving, retail and dining areas
• Follow proper guest service procedures whenever interacting with others by smiling, making eye contact and greeting guests
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following all client and regulatory rules and procedures
• Maintain a fast pace and ability to multitask when performing duties
• Perform any other duties as specified by management
• Willing to drive to different locations within a 60 minute radius
• No reimbursement for gas, mileage or drive time

Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License (a CDL is NOT required) and a clean driving record
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to effectively work independently and utilize time efficiently
• Ability to be analytical and organized
