Security Guard
We are looking for a competent security guard to undertake the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors. You will be responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior. A security guard must be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation.
The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping our facility safe and problem-free.
Duties and responsibilities of Security Guard are:
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
- Write up incident reports and take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
- Help transport patients in OVP Health vehicles.
- Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in and around the property.
- Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.
- Secure all exits, doors and windows.
- Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
- Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions.
- Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation.
- Prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
- Provide assistance to people in need.
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities.
- Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED or a combination of education and experience.
- Registered as a security officer
- Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense
- Proven experience as security officer or guard
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work environment:
This job operates in a 24/7 behavioral health inpatient facility.
