Soni Resources is partnering with a client near Matawan, NJ, on the search for a Payroll Administrator
.
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for assisting in the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately, on schedule, and in full compliance with all applicable regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and close collaboration with Human Resources and Finance to support efficient and compliant payroll operations across the organization.
Responsibilities- Manage and process bi-weekly and/or monthly payroll cycles, including regular earnings, overtime, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and other adjustments.
- Maintain and update payroll records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance to validate employee data changes such as new hires, terminations, compensation adjustments, benefit deductions, and leave tracking.
- Address employee payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly and professionally.
- Reconcile payroll registers and supporting reports; prepare and remit payroll tax payments and required filings.
- Support year‑end payroll activities, including preparation and distribution of W‑2s and 1099s.
- Provide documentation and assistance for internal and external audits.
- Evaluate payroll processes and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred. - Minimum of two years of payroll processing experience, preferably within a healthcare or high‑volume environment.
- Hands‑on experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or UKG, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Team‑oriented mindset with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
$70,000 - $75,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications.
