Position Overview

Responsible for managing the overall operation of the plant including overseeing all aspects of cut and sew, assembly and warehouse facility. Responsible for the quality, efficiency, and output of all production teams while maintaining a safe working environment for each employee. Accountable for plant performance and will ensure that objectives are met in a cost‑effective and timely manner that is consistent with quality requirements.

This includes managing ISO 9001 quality program, OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and CSA compliance. Delegate authority to key supervisors in production, manage all functions involved, direct and coordinate operations in the plant and report concerns/issues directly to the President. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training of plant employees and area supervisors, as well as monitoring labor. Track and maintain materials, factory assets (including building and all production equipment), and plant expenses according to budgets while exceeding quality and production requirements.

Job Functions
  • Manage daily operations in plant facility.
  • Safety – Establish and maintain ergonomically sound safety rules, practices and procedures to assure the safety of NSA employees/partners, building, ground and machinery at all plant operations.
  • Planning – Establish and monitor adherence to daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production plan to meet corporate goals and customer expectations. Conduct regular meetings with team to ensure expectations are understood so that goals can be met.
  • Oversee Purchasing/Procurement – Monitor purchasing of all production supplies to ensure adequate inventory is available to match production demand. Ensure that cost containment is achieved without sacrificing quality.
  • Execution – Meeting or exceeding measurable operational goals (cost, service, and “Quality Products on Time.”).
  • Facilities – Oversee the maintenance of the building, grounds and equipment including repairs and upgrades.
  • Human Resources Management – Recruit, interview, hire, train, and motivate direct reports and plant employees. Handle employee evaluations for direct reports and plant employees.
  • Policies and Procedures – Thoroughly understand corporate policies/procedures and ensure they are followed and adhered to.
  • Process Improvement (PI):
    Identify areas for improvement in such areas as cost, quality, and delivery. Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodology and engineering analysis (GSD) where applicable and document results.
  • Monitor Quality Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Inventory Management.
  • Directly supervise Plant Supervisors, Warehouse Supervisors and Purchasing Managers to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Remain in compliance with facility ISO standards and all HSE guidelines.
  • Oversee OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and CSA compliance programs.
  • Prepare, analyze and issue production and performance reports.
  • Maintain administrative records.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance program.
  • Provide recommendations in all areas of the operations; utilizing industry knowledge and prior experience.
  • Ensure that new products get launched into production efficiently.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with supervisory staff, direct reports and support staff.
Non-Essential Job Functions
  • Perform other tasks as required by the President.
Training
  • Necessary training will be provided on the job and supplemented with seminars and outside classes and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Education & Certifications
    :
    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management preferred but not required.
  • Experience
    : 3-5 years of manufacturing operations experience and supervisory experience.
  • Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office - confidently use core programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for common business tasks. Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants. Able to lead root‑cause analysis investigations and think analytically.
