Paint Sales Specialist

The Norfolk Companies is seeking an experienced Paint Specialist Sales professional to support contractors and homeowners across our wholesale building materials business. Based in Dorchester, MA, you'll serve as the go-to expert on paints, stains, and coatings-guiding product selection, color matching, and application solutions. You'll handle counter and phone sales, build long-term customer relationships, and collaborate with teams across Norfolk brands.

Responsibilities

• Advise contractors and homeowners on paints, stains, and coatings for various substrates and conditions.
• Provide accurate color matching, tinting, and custom mixes using in-store systems.
• Process counter, phone, and special orders while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to drive repeat and project-based sales.
• Coordinate with Norfolk brands and divisions to support cross-selling of building materials and services.
• Maintain product knowledge on manufacturer lines, new technologies, and application best practices.
• Monitor inventory levels, suggest stock adjustments, and help manage merchandising of the paint department.
• Resolve product or service issues promptly, escalating complex concerns as needed.
• Support quotes and basic takeoffs for paint and coatings on residential and light commercial projects.
• Contribute to a safe, organized, and collaborative work environment aligned with company values.
