As an Environmental Health & Safety Manager
, you will manage the overall operation of the Environmental Safety Management System (policies, procedures, manual development). You will also manage the overall training operations (new hires, regular training).
- Respond to external agencies (OSHA audits, EPA, insurance companies, consulting). Conduct annual/quarterly EHS plan development and performance reporting; EHS budget and personnel management.
- Investigation, cause analysis, and recurrence prevention measures in the event of an accident or disaster.
- Overall management of major hazardous work (LOTO, working at heights, etc.).
- Preparation for and response to internal/external audits.
- Overall waste disposal and permit management.
- Operate worker safety training and manage records.
- Manage LOTO/PPE/Hazard Communication.
- Supervise critical tasks such as working at heights, machine inspections, and fire safety.
- Workplace inspections (daily/weekly safety checklists).
- Initial reporting and emergency response in the event of an accident.
- Safety risk assessments for new facilities.
- Operate emergency response training (fire, earthquake, leaks, etc.).
- Maintain OSHA records (300 Log, 301, 300A).
- Ensure safe working conditions within containers - Inspect and manage hazardous materials/battery storage areas.
- Waste management (general/special/hazardous waste separation and consignment management).
- Hazardous chemical storage/use/transport management (including SDS).
- Environmental measurement and recording, including air quality, noise, and effluent discharge.
- Response to discharge permit/report documents (including EPA).
- Operation of a response process in the event of an environmental accident.
- Installation and management of environmental safety signs/warning stickers.
- Maintenance and management of environmental sections in training materials/standards.
- Management of environmental contracts/inspection schedules and documentation.
- Environmental response for partner companies (cleaning/disposal/measurement companies, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred occupational safety and health, or environmental science.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA Safety Certificate required, and Certified Safety Professional (CSP), EHS, ISO, or similar preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in Environmental Health and Safety roles, understanding of U.S. safety/environmental laws.
- Knowledge of Regulations:
Strong understanding of environmental health and safety regulations and standards. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective training and reporting.
- Analytical Skills:
Ability to assess risks and develop effective safety protocols. - Keen attention to details: A meticulous approach to identifying hazards and ensuring compliance.
- Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.). - While not essential, familiarity with Korean business culture and ability to communicate in Korean will be highly regarded.
