Job Details
- Job Location: 749 - Matteson Applebees - Matteson, IL 60443
- Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
- Salary Range: $8.00 - $9.00 Hourly
- Serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction.
- Prepare beverages for other servers and act as cashier for the lounge.
- Greet guests, promote and document orders for drinks.
- Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and prudent portion control.
- Maintain proper and adequate bar set‑up daily, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections.
- Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily.
- Receive cash, give change, verify charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance all moneys.
- Lock up and store all beverages, food and other equipment, deposit cash drops and secure bank.
- Answer the bar phone within three rings, courteously take room service orders, input orders into a register at the point of sale, and create a check for each guest.
- Perform general cleaning tasks with standard hotel cleaning products as assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, safety and security procedures, and fire prevention emergency procedures.
- Utilize protective equipment and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Report accidents, injuries, near‑misses, property damage or loss to supervisor.
- Maintain a neat, clean and well‑groomed appearance in accordance with the team member handbook.
- Assist other Beverage Personnel as needed and perform any related duties requested by supervisor/manager.
- Knowledge of all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations concerning serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Current Food Handler Card.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
- Basic mathematical skills for operating a cash register, making change, counting bank, and preparing cash drops.
- Good English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers.
- Manual dexterity to use a knife, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead.
- Basic comprehension and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to follow written product labeling instructions for safe application of products and processes.
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
- Can operate beverage equipment such as a coffee maker.
- Capable of transporting up to 30 pounds through a crowded area during the shift.
- Lifting fifty (30) pounds maximum.
- Constant standing and walking required.
- Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
