Position SummaryThe Part-time Children's Library Assistant delivers a high level of quality library services ensuring the provision of value-added experiences for all customers and performs routine tasks in support of the library. This position works primarily in the children's department in a busy library location.

- Promote the library’s collection and services
- Perform circulation activities
- Provide service desk coverage
- Provide materials to appropriate bins for transfer
- Provides research assistance to customers
- Utilize integrated library systems software
- Assisting customers at several service points, but primarily in the children's department
- Training and assisting customers on various library policies, procedures, and processes
- Assisting Librarians to deliver programming and outreach services
- Assisting with volunteer management
- Perform shelving and weeding duties
- Experience:
Minimum of one year of customer service experience including library or retail. - Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. - Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? Yes
- Knowledge of integrated library systems software
- Experience working with children ages 0-11
- Bilingual

Proficient in various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
