Lead Floater
Once Upon a Childcare is looking for a Lead Floater to join our team! As a lead floater, you will be doing breaks and substituting for teachers while they are out.
Responsibilities- Help teachers in multiple classrooms implement lesson plans
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a carefully constructed curriculum (e.g., identifying shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc.)
- Track children's progress and report to parents (Tadpole's app)
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean, tidy classroom in accordance with health and safety standards
- Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
- Child development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses and/or a Level 2 or higher in the PDIS credential system
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as a mediator between children
- Cool‑tempered, friendly, and reliable
- Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
