Summary
A leading commercial mechanical contractor is seeking a Mechanical Professional Engineer to support the continued growth of its engineering team across complex commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical projects.
This role is ideal for a licensed PE with a background in HVAC and/or plumbing systems who wants to work closely with construction, operations, and field teams rather than being limited to a traditional consulting environment. The company has a strong pipeline of technically complex work and is continuing to expand its internal engineering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Design HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for complex commercial facilities
- Develop engineering calculations, equipment selections, specifications, and construction documents
- Review and stamp engineering drawings and calculations as required
- Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other project disciplines
- Partner with project management, preconstruction, VDC, and field teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Support constructability reviews and resolve design and field coordination issues
- Review submittals, RFIs, equipment requirements, and project documentation
- Provide technical guidance on mechanical system design and installation
- Support projects within healthcare, data center, commercial, and other technically complex environments
- Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and engineering requirements
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Mechanical Engineering degree or related engineering degree
- Experience designing HVAC and/or plumbing systems
- Commercial mechanical construction or consulting engineering experience preferred
- Healthcare, data center, mission-critical, or other complex facility experience is a plus
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design software preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical codes, equipment, and system design
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, construction, and field teams
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
