Production Manager
Job Summary
Supervise and direct the production processes in a manner that optimizes machine efficiencies while producing quality products with a minimum scrap and conversion cost. Ensure direct reports and supporting workforce are suitably trained and performing essential functions. Provide upper management with consistently clear reporting while ensuring compliance with all company policies, corporate and plant procedures, and regulatory (ISO 9001) concerns.
Essential Functions- Supervise support of all company policies—Safety, ISO 9001, company and plant procedures—along with relevant production department responsibilities.
- Lead production safety initiatives and promote a safe work environment through planning, observation, and execution.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements within the department.
- Ensure that operational checks and verifications are executed in a timely and consistent manner.
- Write and conduct employee evaluations and corrective actions where needed.
- Supervise that all resin blends, production yield, and scrap rate are at or above goal and respond as needed when not met; enter data into appropriate systems to record shift performance.
- Monitor daily attendance and staffing requirements to meet schedules and maintain hours in Kronos—report any differences, changes, or needs to the Production Manager.
- Observe and troubleshoot areas of manufacturing and operations where safety, quality, or production is at risk.
- Ensure that all working documents and paperwork are complete, correct, and authorized where differences occur.
- Maintain good housekeeping, safety, and manufacturing practices.
- Communicate policies and procedures effectively with a positive attitude.
- Perform First Responder duties as needed.
- Report all aspects of production, including machine status, personnel status, new employee training, and training of promoted individuals.
- Conduct daily pre‑shift or other employee meetings and trainings as needed.
- Perform other duties deemed necessary by Management.
- Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and clear communication of safe work expectations.
- Complete responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Actively lead risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate or reduce environmental, health, or safety risks.
- Lead all required meetings (e.g., pre‑shift, department, town hall).
- Conduct incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in a timely and thorough manner.
- Ensure proper training and development of all assigned employees.
- Set goals for the organizational unit; achieve goals and ensure all employees understand and work toward them.
- Motivate and coach employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback, and identify and coordinate additional training as needed.

Education and/or ExperienceEducation: Associates degree or equivalent from a 2‑year college or technical school.
Experience: 5 years in manufacturing; 3 years in a supervisory role.
