Shop Helper

Matthews, NC

Schedule:

Monday– Friday, 4: 30 AM– 12: 30 PM, with overtime as needed

Pay: $24 - $28 per hour, based on experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Shop Helper / Painter / Fabricator to join a busy production team. This hands‑on role will assist with steel fabrication, painting, material handling, assembly, and general shop operations. The ideal candidate is safety‑mindful, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

• Assist with fabrication, painting, and production activities
• Load, unload, move, and stage steel and other materials
• Clean, grind, and prepare steel for fabrication and painting
• Assist welders and fabricators with materials and parts
• Paint steel structures and crane components
• Assist with crane assembly and basic quality inspections
• Safely use hand and power tools
• Read tape measures, part tags, and material labels
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes after training
• Perform other shop duties as assigned

• Manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or shop experience preferred
• Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand and power tools
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work well with a team
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the workday

• Experience with welding, fabrication, industrial painting, mechanical assembly, forklifts, or overhead cranes.
