CNC Process & Shopfloor Technical Lead Axis Milling​/Turning

Join Our Precision Mission Northeast Tool & Manufacturing delivers flight‑critical parts for Aerospace, Defense, & Space. We’re expanding our leadership on the shop floor and seeking a CNC Process & Shopfloor Technical Lead to elevate standards in multi‑axis milling and turning. While this role is presently aligned with 2nd shift, we are actively reviewing candidates for all shifts.

Your Impact Be the go‑to expert for complex setups, operations, and troubleshooting across CNC milling and turning, including 3+2 and/or simultaneous 5‑axis.

Direct day‑to‑day priorities, balance workflow, and uphold delivery promises, quality benchmarks, and production schedules.

Mentor machinists and operators—build skills, reinforce best practices, and promote safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Optimize tooling and work holding, refine process controls, and strengthen inspection methods for tight‑tolerance work.

Serve as the communication bridge between shifts—facilitate production handoffs, support the QMS, and drive rapid nonconformance resolution.

Champion 5S, FOD prevention, equipment care, and organized, safe work areas.

Qualifications Required High  School Diploma or GED with multiple years of CNC machining in a manufacturing environment; precision, tight‑tolerance experience strongly preferred.

Hands‑on setup and machining of complex parts on multi‑axis CNC milling, turning, and/or mill‑turn equipment.

Fluency in machining fundamentals: tooling, work holding, feeds/speeds, blueprint reading, tolerances, and GD&T.Track record of mentoring, training, and providing technical guidance on the floor.

Skilled with precision metrology and inspection for product conformance.

Experience with ERP/MRP platforms and Microsoft Office; ability to use KPIs and production metrics to drive performance.

Preferred Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Machining, or related; equivalent experience welcomed.

Prior leadership as Lead Machinist, Cell Lead, Technical Lead, Mentor, or similar.

Background in AS9100 aerospace or other highly regulated settings.

Demonstrated capability in 3+2 and/or simultaneous 5‑axis milling and multi‑axis turning centers.

Exposure to Lean, CI, Root Cause Analysis, and/or Six Sigma.

Advanced GD&T and ASME Y14.5 familiarity; training/certifications a plus.

Shift: Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM2nd

Shift: Monday – Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM3rd
