Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma‑informed and evidence‑based, with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0‑18) and their families, both virtually and in person.

Thompson focuses on delivering comprehensive behavioral mental health services to youth and families. The organization provides trauma‑informed care across its three domains to build resilience and promote long‑term well‑being.

• Provide medical oversight, care, education, and guidance to young clients in your care. Your performance will be measured by individual outcomes, target achievement, contribution to the program team, and alignment with organizational culture.
• Administer medications, maintain medical records, respond to client medical needs, and collaborate directly with the psychiatrist to provide professional nursing care.
• Work full‑time nights (6 pm‑6 am) with a schedule of three 12‑hour shifts, including at least one weekend day, one minor holiday, and two major holidays.

• Starting pay range: $35.00‑$38.00 per hour

• Valid driver’s license and compliance with department credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards.
• Associate’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
• No minimum number of years of professional experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong written and oral communication skills.
• Current RN license in North Carolina.
• Must be able to work nights.
