DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY:
The basic functions of the Apprentice Plumber are to:
Assist the Plumber on the job site, loading the truck with tools and/or materials, assist with inventory of truck supplies and job site material inventory.
Help care for company property (i.e. trucks, tools, equipment).
Keep work area neat and clean.
Willingness to learn and take direction/instructions from management
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Apprentice reports directly to the Foreman or Superintendent for job related direction.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Required: Some high school
Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
Required: None
Preferred: High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 6 months plumbing or general construction experience.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Licenses
:
Required: Good communication skills, willingness to learn, ability to lift 50 pounds, OSHA 10 Certification (or within 90 days from date of hire)
Preferred: Same as above but with working knowledge of plumbing

This position requires the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods of time. Requires the ability to stoop, squat, sit, stand and climb stairs and ladders.
May be exposed to toxic gases and/or solvents. May require working with or being up close to machinery. Eight (8) or more hour workdays per five (5) to six (6) day workweek with the possibility of nights and/or weekend work required.
