The basic function of the Field Supervisor is to serve as the first line of field supervision and is responsible for the day‑to‑day management of all job site activities per the contract. Coordinates and monitors Precision Plumbing’s resources and activities as well as monitoring subcontractors and equipment rentals to complete each job within budget. The Field Supervisors objective is to utilize all available resources in the most effective, efficient manner to complete the plumbing services contract as cost effectively as possible while also ensuring customer satisfaction according to Precision Plumbing’s quality standards.
ReportingRelationships
The Field Supervisor reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Reporting directly to this position are the Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen Plumbers and Plumbing Apprentices as outlined on the Company Organization Chart.
Position QualificationsMust be a self‑starter who is detail oriented and has the resolve to maintain the goals, objectives and underlying principals of Precision Plumbing.
Must be mature, flexible and self‑motivated and able to administer, enforce, and coordinate project contract provisions and specifications consistent with direction provided by the Vice President, Project Manager, and/or Client Services.
Possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, a high work ethic, moral and personal integrity and honesty. He/she must command the same qualities throughout the organization.
Problem solving abilities and be able to manage the performance of laborers and subcontractors.
He/she must be able to plan and schedule project phases and activities.
Understand job costing/budget.
Exemplify professionalism in personal appearance, manner, dress and leadership style.
Must be able to read and understand drawings, building specifications, building codes, schedules, blueprints, manuals, and job cost reports.
Must have significant knowledge of plumbing techniques and sequence.
Ability to safely use plumbing tools and equipment.
Requirements Education and TrainingVocational training in plumbing methods is preferred, but a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Plumbing management experience will offset the lack of formal training or education. The employee should be willing to pursue additional training to upgrade any skill deficiencies.
Licensing/Certification- A valid driver’s license
- OSHA 30 certification
A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in the plumbing industry is required including a minimum of two (2) years experience in commercial plumbing.
Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesOversee Precision Plumbing’s on‑site staff to stay on schedule while maintaining safety standards on the job sites to ensure a safe work environment.

Body PositionsThe majority of time for this position is spent standing and walking at the construction sight. Sitting upright is required for meetings, completing forms, and driving. A full range of physical motion to perform work activities as necessary includes bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, twisting, and climbing in connection with both job site work and supervision.
Body SensesBody senses require full use of vision and hearing to communicate with the office, crews, and subcontractors, and avoid possible safety hazards. Vision includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus.
StrengthMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
MentalMust have a good math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
