CEM Corporation is seeking a skilled and dependable Facility Technician to support facility operations and maintenance across company buildings and rental properties. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, supporting facility improvement projects, and ensuring all systems are infrastructure operate efficiently.
Facility Technician Responsibilities Include but not limited to:- Support all facility maintenance activities, repairs, and improvement projects across company buildings and rental properties
- Assist in defining project goals, specifications, and coordinating internal and external resources
- Coordinate with department managers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards
- Obtain and review subcontractor quotes; monitor performance to ensure compliance with project expectations
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including pumps, tanks, air, water, piping, and exhaust systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues as needed
- Provide day-to-day facility support and respond to emergency repair situations in a timely manner
- Maintain and support recycling and waste management programs for the facility and laboratories
- Support safety programs, inspections, and compliance initiatives
- Ensure overall facility quality standards are maintained or improved
- Knowledge of or certification in two or more maintenance trades (e.g., electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing)
- Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing maintenance or facilities experience
- Proficiency with computers and software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and project management tools
- Strong project planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and vendors
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to facility emergencies outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Valid state driver’s license required
- OSHA 10 or 30 a plus
- Forklift certification and/or experience operating forklifts preferred
- Experience operating aerial/scissor lift preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to work at heights and safely utilize ladders, ariel lifts, and elevated work platforms
- Comfortable working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments and weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in an on-call rotation as needed
