POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Consult Liaison Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to provide telehealth psychiatric care for patients of all ages in Illinois. This weekends-only role offers a flexible schedule and is ideal for a provider interested in providing consult liaison services for a Chicago-area hospital with a daily census of 5-8 patients that is expected to increase over the coming year.
This Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist role is currently classified as a 1099 contractor position with a pay per patient model
, but IPC is open to discussion of other contract models.
Rates are currently set at $180 per initial consultation and $65 per follow-up.

- Perform psychiatric evaluations and manage medications for patients across the lifespan (children, adolescents, and adults).
- Provide consult liaison services to support staff and ensure timely psychiatric interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in line with clinical and regulatory requirements.
- Apply a patient-centered approach to care, tailoring treatment plans to meet individual needs and preferences.
- Weekends and part-time only.
12-hour shifts are preferred, but scheduling is flexible.
- MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Illinois preferred (not required).
- Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience with telepsychiatry and managing diverse, multi-age patient populations is highly preferred.
- Must be able to work remotely; candidates can reside anywhere in the U.S. (Illinois licensure preferred).
