CARES Emotional Disturbance (ED) Teacher – $3,500 Hiring Incentive
Valley View School District 365U is seeking a full‑time Emotional Disturbance (ED) teacher for the 2025‑2026 school year.

Job SummaryThe teacher plans and delivers instructional lessons that meet the needs of learners with moderate to severe behavior and emotional disabilities. The role also involves creating a conducive classroom environment, employing effective instructional techniques, and carrying out additional duties as assigned.
Essential Functions- Design engaging, high‑content work for students.
- Plan and instruct students on district and state standard–aligned curriculum, using integrated or direct service approaches as appropriate.
- Accommodate, modify, and adapt lessons and curriculum to meet individual student needs and IEP goals.
- Support IEP meetings and development.
- Establish a safe, positive classroom environment.
- Plan collaboratively with staff using co‑teaching models.
- Administer and adapt formal and informal assessments.
- Monitor and review student progress, maintain records, and develop intervention strategies.
- Set clear behavior expectations and apply positive reinforcement or behavior‑modification techniques; develop interventions when needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents, educators, and students.
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists on modifications, interventions, and academic concerns.
- Participate in building and district teams to address concerns early.
- Enforce district and school policies with students and parents.
- Engage in professional growth, staff development, and school improvement activities.
- Attend events outside normal work hours as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Current Illinois PEL professional educator licensure with special education endorsement.
- Expertise in behavior‑management strategies, aggression‑replacement techniques, and CPI.
- Ability to write and implement IEPs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
