Overview
Daubert Chemical Company, a family‑owned specialty chemical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced R&D Formulation Chemist to develop and scale new coating products at our Midway Airport plant. The role requires advanced laboratory formulation expertise and the ability to collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, and sales.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop formulations for new products and existing product modifications, conduct bench‑scale batch development, perform stability and performance testing, and generate Safety Data Sheets.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to executive management.
- Identify and resolve formulation‑related issues during development and production.
- Provide technical service support to customers and sales with minimal supervision.
- Maintain accurate records of formulation development, testing plans, and results.
- Generate lab reports, formulations, and cost sheets for the team.
- Enter new product entries and implement engineering change orders.
- Research, order, and maintain laboratory equipment; train others on processes.
- Perform 5S and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
- Log raw materials, calibrate equipment, and log SDS information.
B.S. in Chemistry (minimum);
Master’s or Ph.D. highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years related industrial chemical experience, preferably in an industrial chemical environment.
- History of innovative product development.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency for formulations and cost sheets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information internally and externally.
- Demonstrated safety and quality mindset; follows all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Level III annual salary range: $90,000–$126,000 (actual compensation based on qualifications).
