Senior Accountant

Overview

Katalyst Group is recruiting for a newly created Senior Accountant on behalf of an ESOP in the western suburbs. This position aims to streamline accounting processes, facilitate business analysis, and allow leadership to focus on strategic priorities, such as ERP implementation and mergers and acquisitions. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, managing cash applications, supporting fixed asset accounting, and collaborating with staff across accounts payable and billing functions.

The Senior Accountant also plays a pivotal role in developing cost accounting practices, establishing production costing processes, and assisting with the transition to new systems.

Qualified candidates should have experience in cost accounting and possess strong skills in month-end close and general accounting. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, familiarity with ERP systems (especially Net Suite), and a detail-oriented approach to process improvement are important for success in this role. The primary goals are to shorten the month-end close cycle, implement reliable costing and inventory tracking, provide accurate financial data to support decision-making, and enable leadership to concentrate on strategic projects by managing daily accounting tasks efficiently.

Compensation will vary based on experience but will range from $75K-90K annually. This role is required to be on-site 5X a week in their corporate office in the western suburbs.
